UNDERSTANDING TERADATA'S END OF SUPPORT POLICY

Natrinsic's experts can help you to determine when support ends for your Teradata system. Teradata publishes all of the information required to confirm the end of support date for your system.

It boils down to this:

  • For Teradata hardware platforms, Teradata will provide remedial maintenance services for six (6) years from its Platform Sales Discontinuation Date.

    • Support Discontinuation is the end of support date for a particular Teradata hardware platform. Teradata will provide support for the Teradata hardware platforms for six (6) years after the Platform Sales Discontinuation Date."

    • Once a hardware platform reaches end of support, "Teradata customers may request extended support for a Teradata platform that has reached its end of support life. The extended support for a platform requires approval from the local Area Director and will be delivered on a "best-effort" basis as spare parts for older platforms may no longer be available."

  • Teradata WILL still sell you a support service for your system after it reachesend of support, however, Teradata will NOT guarantee hardware, or when a field engineer will arrive to fix your system.
  • Natrinsic offers guaranteed hardware and multiple response SLA's for ALL Teradata appliances.

How to check your appliance last ship date:

  • You can look up your model or class number for your system in the tables below. 
  • You can also view this public-facing Teradata document called "Public lifecycle Information & Roadmaps" and see the table on slide 7.
